Card Terminals for European Live Music Touring

SumUp is the recommended choice for smaller artists or infrequent European touring. The service features minimal upfront costs (~£29), straightforward setup, and broad compatibility. However, it operates exclusively in the account’s home currency, typically GBP.

MyPOS is the preferred option for regular EU touring or established artists. Despite complicated account setup procedures, it provides multicurrency capabilities and includes built-in cellular connectivity. The MyPOS Carbon reader functions as essentially “an android phone in a card reader shell.”

Zettle by PayPal previously dominated this market but only works in your home country, making it unsuitable for international touring.

Square Reader offers attractive economics with its cheapest entry point (~£19) and intuitive interface. Like Zettle, it remains restricted to domestic use and single-currency transactions.
